What is Scheduled Maintenance?
Scheduled maintenance is a predetermined checkup on your car that occurs at regular intervals. These intervals are usually measured by miles on the odometer, allowing experts to find problems before they further negatively impact your car. Scheduled maintenance also involves some routine maintenance, such as an oil change and checking on the tires. There are a variety of scheduled maintenance checkups for your car, such as at 5,000 miles, 10,000 or 15,000, but some of the most important major maintenance occurs at 30,000, 60,000 miles and 90,000 miles.
What Cars Do We Offer Scheduled
At Chris's Auto Smog Repair Center, we offer scheduled maintenance for pretty much every car brand, make, and model, including the following:
- Mini Cooper
30,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenance
When your car reaches 30,000 miles, this is the first major scheduled maintenance for your vehicle. Often referred to as a "tune-up", at this point your car will have to have some fluids and other parts replaced. This fluids and parts will need to be replaced at 30,000, 60,000 and 90,000 miles, depending on the condition of your car. Here are the standard replacements:
- Replace brake fluid
- Replace Coolant
- Replace Transmission Fluid
- Replace Spark plug
- Change Fuel Filter
- Change Air Filter
Along with these standard replacements that occur every 30,000 miles, it is not out of the question to have to replace your brake pads or even need tires replaced.
60,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenance
At 60,000, most of the fixes listed above for a 30,000 mile maintenance still apply, including the possibility of needing new brake pads or tires. At 60,000 miles, a few other fluids may need to be replaced, including differential fluid, engine coolant, and automatic transmission fluid. The automatic transmission filter will also need to be addressed, and in some vehicles a new timing belt may be necessary, along with a valve adjustment.
90,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenance
At 90,000 miles, a thorough examination of the car and every aspect of it is performed. As the car nears 100,000 miles, it is essential to make sure everything in the vehicle is up to snuff. That is why at 90,000 miles we execute all of the services performed at both 30,000 and 60,000, making sure your vehicle is looking and driving great.
